Fantastic Baby MV Symbolism Pt. 2
Animals
Owls are known to be the bringers of change. This is also known as misfortune or death because change is often thought to be a bad thing. I disagree with this. While change is often highly unstable it is not a bad thing. Without change, one cannot evolve. The symbolism of the owl shows the impending revolution that is coming in the MV.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere of the entire MV is full of symbolism. From the beginning, you have “STOP MUSIC” signs plastered everywhere, the colors are bleak and you see officers coming towards the fence, while masked individuals approach from the other side in anticipation. These officers represent all the antis of Big Bang, they are the ones holding Big Bang hostage in a sense.
They want them to stop making music, stop singing, stop being idols. They don’t think they deserve it or are worthy. They are the oppressors and as with any oppression, a revolution cannot be far behind.

Color
Color plays an very important part as far as symbolism in this MV.
Here we have GD with bright orange hair, while wearing a black and white suit. white often symbolizes purity and virtue, while black symbolizes authority and power, two things commonly associated with evil. The mixture of both of these colors is frequently seen as the eternal struggle between good and evil.
The most interesting thing, is the color of GD’s hair. Orange is a symbol for courage. Now with GD having orange hair while wearing this suit could symbolize the struggle that GD has being an idol between doing what is deemed right and good as a public figure aka G-Dragon or doing what is wrong and evil for himself aka Kwon Ji Yong.
The use of both colors shows the acceptance of both G-Dragon and Kwon Ji Yong while with the hair might symbolize the new-found courage to be both true to himself and to his stage persona on his own terms, not others.
Taeyang is juxtaposition of GD. His outfit consists of little to no white and a great deal of black. This is shows a sense of unbalance and recklessness. Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. This comeback is about change, not just for GD, but for all of Big Bang. Taeyang’s outfit may symbolize his decision to be more reckless and daring, choosing to show more himself and his untamed side, rather than act like he may think people want him to act.
